The foundation of prosperity is based on the “ Law of Sowing and Reaping “
Luke 6: 37 “Judge not, and you shall not be judged. Condemn not, and you shall not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven. 38 Give, and it will be given to you: good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over will be put into your bosom. For with the same measure that you use, it will be measured back to you.” NKJV
It started back at the very beginning in the garden of Eden.
Gen 8:22 “While the earth remains, Seedtime and harvest, Cold and heat, Winter and summer, And day and night Shall not cease.” NKJV
Jesus revealed that this law is at work in every area of the Kingdom of God.
Mark 4:26 And He said, “The kingdom of God is as if a man should scatter seed on the ground, 27 and should sleep by night and rise by day, and the seed should sprout and grow, he himself does not know how. 28 For the earth yields crops by itself: first the blade, then the head, after that the full grain in the head. NKJV
This is an OT and NT principle . It not only works for finances, it works in every area of life.
Gal 6:7 Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap. 8 For he who sows to his flesh will of the flesh reap corruption, but he who sows to the Spirit will of the Spirit reap everlasting life. NKJV
Matt 7:12 12 Therefore, whatever you want men to do to you, do also to them, for this is the Law and the Prophets. NKJV
Eph 6: 8 knowing that whatever good anyone does, he will receive the same from the Lord, NKJV
Note: consider the fact that kind gives birth to the same kind. If we need finances we sow finances. If we need a car or clothes or an education etc. Kenneth Copeland and a new suit.
Our Lord Jesus continually used illustrations about the law of sowing and reaping to reach the common people which followed him.
Matt 17:20 for assuredly, I say to you, if you have faith as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you.
Matt 13:31 Another parable He put forth to them, saying: “The kingdom of heaven is like a mustard seed, which a man took and sowed in his field, 32 which indeed is the least of all the seeds; but when it is grown it is greater than the herbs and becomes a tree, so that the birds of the air come and nest in its branches.” NKJV
The Law of Sowing and Reaping is a perfect balance of justice.
Obad1:15 “The day is near when I, the Lord, will judge all godless nations! As you have done to Israel,
so it will be done to you. NLT
Gen 12:2 And you shall be a blessing. 3 I will bless those who bless you, And I will curse him who curses you; And in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.” NKJV
When we first accept, and then follow the law of sowing and reaping we open the way for the Lord’s blessing to work in our lives.
2 Cor 9:6 [Remember] this: he who sows sparingly and grudgingly will also reap sparingly and grudgingly, and he who sows generously [that blessings may come to someone] will also reap generously and with blessings. 7 Let each one [give] as he has made up his own mind and purposed in his heart, not reluctantly or sorrowfully or under compulsion, for God loves (He takes pleasure in, prizes above other things, and is unwilling to abandon or to do without) a cheerful (joyous, “prompt to do it”) giver [whose heart is in his giving]. [Prov 22:9.] 8 And God is able to make all grace (every favor and earthly blessing) come to you in abundance, so that you may always and under all circumstances and whatever the need be self‑sufficient [possessing enough to require no aid or support and furnished in abundance for every good work and charitable donation]. Consider the widow’s offering of two coins: the faith, the love, and the faithfulness to God’s Word.
Luke 21:21 While Jesus was in the Temple, he watched the rich people dropping their gifts in the collection box. 2 Then a poor widow came by and dropped in two small coins.
3 “I tell you the truth,” Jesus said, “this poor widow has given more than all the rest of them. 4 For they have given a tiny part of their surplus, but she, poor as she is, has given everything she has.” NLT
Jesus understood this principle so well that He used this metaphor to describe His death, burial and resurrection.
John 12: 23‑24 Jesus replied that the time had come for him to return to his glory in heaven, and that “I must fall and die like a kernel of wheat that falls into the furrows of the earth. Unless I die I will be alone‑a single seed. But my death will produce many new wheat kernels‑a plentiful harvest of new lives. 25 If you love your life down here‑you will lose it. If you despise your life down here‑you will exchange it for eternal glory. TLB
Consider these 3 questions.
Do you have financial problems ?
If you do, what sort of financial seeds have you sown ?
Have you sown sparingly or have you sown bountifully ? 2 cor 9:6
Consider what Solomon said about finances. He was the wealthiest king to ever live.
Prov 11:24‑25 It is possible to give away and become richer! It is also possible to hold on too tightly and lose everything. Yes, the liberal man shall be rich! By watering others, he waters himself. TLB
The laws of prosperity, the law of sowing and reaping are in place so that the children can establish the Lord’s covenant in the earth.
Deut 8:18 “And you shall remember the Lord your God, for it is He who gives you power to get wealth, that He may establish His covenant which He swore to your fathers, as it is this day. NKJV
Jesus Our Lord reminds us that our resources , our blessings from heaven , enable us to reach the lost, those with no hope, without God, lost in the world.
Mark 16:15 Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. NKJV
Matt 24:14 And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come. NKJV
