This series is based on Rom 8:1 There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit. 2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death. NKJV Unfortunately many people are unaware of these laws that dominate people’s lives. If we work in agreement with the Law of the Spirit of Life, we will prosper. If we work against the Law of the Spirit of Life , then the Law of Sin and Death begins to work in our life. The good news is that when we understand these spiritual laws we are then able to make the right choice.
Poverty overcomes those who ignore wisdom through instruction.
Prov 13: 18 If you ignore criticism, you will end in poverty and disgrace; if you accept correction, you will be honored. NLT
Prov 5:12 You will say, “How I hated discipline! If only I had not ignored all the warnings! 13 Oh, why didn’t I listen to my teachers? Why didn’t I pay attention to my instructors? 14 I have come to the brink of utter ruin, and now I must face public disgrace.” NLT
However, blessings come to those who seek and obey the Word of the Lord.
Matt 6:33 But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. NKJV
Poverty comes to those who are lazy.
Prov 20:13 Love not sleep, lest you come to poverty; open your eyes { and go to work } and you will be satisfied with bread. AMP
Prov 20: 4 If you too lazy to plow in the cold, you won’t eat at the harvest. TLB
Those who live in sin open the door to poverty, sickness, and separation from God.
Prov 10:4 Lazy men are soon poor; hard workers get rich. TLB
Prov 10:15 The wealth of the rich is their fortress; the poverty of the poor is their destruction. NLT
Prov 13:22 When a good man dies, he leaves an inheritance to his grandchildren; but when a sinner dies, his wealth is stored up for the godly. 23 A poor man’s farm may have good soil, but injustice robs him of its riches. TLB
Sickness
John 5:13 But the one who was healed did not know who it was, for Jesus had withdrawn, a multitude being in that place. 14 Afterward Jesus found him in the temple, and said to him, “See, you have been made well. Sin no more, lest a worse thing come upon you.” NKJV
Separation from God
Isa 59:1 Behold, the Lord’s hand is not shortened, That it cannot save; Nor His ear heavy, That it cannot hear. 2 But your iniquities have separated you from your God; And your sins have hidden His face from you, So that He will not hear. NKJV
Poverty comes upon the selfish but generosity will produce prosperity.
Prov 11:24 Give freely and become more wealthy; be stingy and lose everything. 25 The generous will prosper; those who refresh others will themselves be refreshed .NLT
Poverty is not for God’s people.
Ps 37: 25 I have been young, and now am old; Yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken,
Nor his descendants begging bread. NKJV
Ps 34: 8 Oh, taste and see that the Lord is good; Blessed is the man who trusts in Him! 9 Oh, fear the Lord, you His saints! There is no want to those who fear Him. 10 The young lions lack and suffer hunger;
But those who seek the Lord shall not lack any good thing. NKJV
Ps 23:1 The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. NKJV
The Lord will rescue the poor and needy when they call on the Name of the Lord.
Ps 72:4 He will bring justice to the poor of the people; He will save the children of the needy,
And will break in pieces the oppressor. NKJV
Ps 72:12 For He will deliver the needy when he cries, The poor also, and him who has no helper. NKJV
1 Sam 2:8 He raises the poor from the dust And lifts the beggar from the ash heap, NKJV
The anointing of the Lord breaks the yoke of poverty.
Luke 4: 18 “The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, Because He has anointed Me To preach the gospel to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, To proclaim liberty to the captives And recovery of sight to the blind, To set at liberty those who are oppressed; NKJV
It is the written will of God to break the yoke of poverty . The Key is to hear and obey the Word of the Lord!
Matt 6: 33 But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. NKJV
Ps 37:4 Delight yourself also in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart. NKJV
There should be no poor among God’s covenant people !
Deut 15:4 “There should be no poor among you, for the Lord your God will greatly bless you in the land he is giving you as a special possession. 5 You will receive this blessing if you are careful to obey all the commands of the Lord your God NLT
Judg 18:10 a place where there is no lack of anything that is on the earth.” NKJV
Phil 4:19 And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus. NKJV
Ministering to the poor and oppressed brings breakthroughs into our own lives.
Isa 58: 6 “Is this not the fast that I have chosen: To loose the bonds of wickedness, To undo the heavy burdens,To let the oppressed go free, And that you break every yoke? 7 Is it not to share your bread with the hungry,And that you bring to your house the poor who are cast out; When you see the naked, that you cover him, And not hide yourself from your own flesh? 8 Then your light shall break forth like the morning, Your healing shall spring forth speedily, And your righteousness shall go before you; The glory of the Lord shall be your rear guard. 9 Then you shall call, and the Lord will answer; You shall cry, and He will say, ‘Here I am.’”If you take away the yoke from your midst, NKJV
