How to prosper in tough Times Lesson 3

This sermon is part 2 of 13 in the series Prosper in Tough Times

We have established by scripture that it is the will of God for His children to prosper.

Ps 35:27  Let the Lord be magnified, Who takes pleasure in the prosperity of His servant.  AMP

3 John 2  Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers.

That money within itself is not evil. It is how it is used that determines if it good or evil. If it is used to bribe a judge then money is an instrument  of evil, but if it is used to pay your mortgage it becomes an instrument for good. Our attitude about money determines if it is a source of good or evil in our lives.

How to prosper in Hard times Lesson 4

This sermon is part 4 of 13 in the series Prosper in Tough Times

We know that it is the will of God for us to prosper.

3 John 2 Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers.

We also know from scripture that living righteously is one of the main components of prosperity.

Ps 1:1 1 Oh, the joys of those who do not follow the advice of the wicked, or stand around with sinners,

or join in with mockers.2 But they delight in the law of the Lord, meditating on it day and night.

3 They are like trees planted along the riverbank, bearing fruit each season. Their leaves never wither,

How to prosper in Hard times Lesson 5

This sermon is part 5 of 13 in the series Prosper in Tough Times

Prosperity means conforming to God’s  revealed will.

Isa 48: 17 Thus says the Lord, your Redeemer, The Holy One of Israel: “I am the Lord your God, Who teaches you to profit, Who leads you by the way you should go. NKJV

We must first wash our minds of worldly attitudes that we have acquired before we were saved.

Titus 3: 5 not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us, through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit, NKJV

Eph 5:26 that He might sanctify and cleanse her with the washing of water by the word, NKJV

Rom 12:1 And so, dear brothers and sisters, I plead with you to give your bodies to God because of all he has done for you. Let them be a living and holy sacrifice—the kind he will find acceptable. This is truly the way to worship him. 2 Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.  NLT

Prov 21:5 The plans of the diligent lead to profit,  just as surely as haste leads to poverty. NIV

How to Prosper in Hard Times Lesson 6

This sermon is part 6 of 13 in the series Prosper in Tough Times

Diligence:  constant and persistent attention to one’s work;

Hard work and personal discipline are a channel for prosperity.

1 Thess 4: 11 To make it your ambition and definitely endeavor to live quietly and peacefully, to mind your own affairs, and to work with your hands, as we charged you,  12 So that you may bear yourselves becomingly and be correct and honorable and command the respect of the outside world, being dependent on nobody [self‑supporting] and having need of nothing.  AMP

Today’s society focuses on leisure and recreation in stead of diligence. Many illegal drugs are referred to as : “ Recreational Drugs “ or party-time, feel-good drugs. But, where is wisdom ?

Prov 22:29 Do you see a man diligent and skillful in his business? He will stand before kings; he will not stand before obscure men.  AMP

Prov 10:4 He becomes poor who works with a slack and idle hand, but the hand of the diligent makes rich.

How to Prosper in Hard Times Lesson 7

This sermon is part 7 of 13 in the series Prosper in Tough Times

Resist the temptation to depart from basic bible truths. Continue to do what you know is right.

Jer 6:16 Thus says the Lord: “Stand in the ways and see, And ask for the old paths, where the good way is, And walk in it; Then you will find rest for your souls. NKJV

Consider Solomon’s beginning , how  that  things were very favorable for him at the time he took over the kingdom from David his father.

1 Kings 3:7 Now, O Lord my God, You have made Your servant king instead of my father David, but I am a little child; I do not know how to go out or come in. 8 And Your servant is in the midst of Your people whom You have chosen, a great people, too numerous to be numbered or counted. 9 Therefore give to Your servant an understanding heart to judge Your people, that I may discern between good and evil. For who is able to judge this great people of Yours?”

10 The speech pleased the Lord, that Solomon had asked this thing. 11 Then God said to him: “Because you have asked this thing, and have not asked long life for yourself, nor have asked riches for yourself, nor have asked the life of your enemies, but have asked for yourself understanding to discern justice, 12 behold, I have done according to your words; see, I have given you a wise and understanding heart, so that there has not been anyone like you before you, nor shall any like you arise after you. 13 And I have also given you what you have not asked: both riches and honor, so that there shall not be anyone like you among the kings all your days. 14 So if you walk in My ways, to keep My statutes and My commandments, as your father David walked, then I will lengthen your days.” NKJV

How to prosper in hard times: Lesson 8

This sermon is part 8 of 13 in the series Prosper in Tough Times

The foundation of prosperity is based on the “ Law of Sowing and Reaping “

Luke 6: 37 “Judge not, and you shall not be judged. Condemn not, and you shall not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven.  38 Give, and it will be given to you: good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over will be put into your bosom. For with the same measure that you use, it will be measured back to you.” NKJV

It started back at the very beginning in the garden of Eden.

Gen 8:22 “While the earth remains, Seedtime and harvest, Cold and heat, Winter and summer, And day and night Shall not cease.” NKJV

How to Prosper in Hard Times: Lesson 9

This sermon is part 9 of 13 in the series Prosper in Tough Times

The key to the resources of heaven is to honor the Lord with our Tithes and Offerings. Consider that the entire Jewish nation could not prosper. They experienced crop failures continually and the were being oppressed by their enemies.

Mal 3:8 Will a man rob or defraud God? Yet you rob and defraud Me. But you say, In what way do we rob or defraud You? [You have withheld your] tithes and offerings.

9 You are cursed with the curse, for you are robbing Me, even this whole nation. [Lev 26:14‑17.]

10 Bring all the tithes (the whole tenth of your income) into the storehouse, that there may be food in My house, and prove Me now by it, says the Lord of hosts, if I will not open the windows of heaven for you and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it. [Mal 2:2.]

11 And I will rebuke the devourer [insects and plagues] for your sakes and he shall not destroy the fruits of your ground, neither shall your vine drop its fruit before the time in the field, says the Lord of hosts.

12 And all nations shall call you happy and blessed, for you shall be a land of delight, says the Lord of hosts.  AMP

How to prosper in hard times Lesson 10

This sermon is part 10 of 13 in the series Prosper in Tough Times

Tithing primes the pump and gets the flow of finances going.

Mal 3:10 Bring all the tithes into the storehouse, That there may be food in My house, And try Me now in this,” Says the Lord of hosts, “If I will not open for you the windows of heaven And pour out for you such blessing That there will not be room enough to receive it. 11 “And I will rebuke the devourer for your sakes, NKJV

Why was the tithe so important ? Because it was the Divine Plan of economic prosperity.

It established the priesthood , which was the intermediate intercession between the people and God.  This covered atonement for sin, restoration to righteousness, Healing for the body, and justice between members of the family of God who had legal disputes. It provided for the oversight of marriage and divorce. The priesthood had the oversight of the distribution to the poor and the widow and the orphan and the foreigner. In addition to all these responsibilities, they were required to teach the people in the Word of the Lord. The Levites were priests and singers and musicians in the temple plus they had the oversight of the maintenance of the temple mount.
