Kingdom

This sermon is part 1 of 5 in the series Kingdom

A Kingdom is a place or realm where the influence of the King is sovereign. Jesus taught the Kingdom of God comes mysteriously. Luke 17:20 Now when He was asked by the Pharisees when the kingdom of God would come, He answered them and said, “The kingdom of God does not come with observation; 21 nor will they say,’See here!’ or ‘See there!’ For indeed, the kingdom of God is within you.” NKJV

The OT prophets prophesied of the eternal Kingdom.
Dan 4:3 How great are His signs, And how mighty His wonders! His kingdom is an everlasting kingdom,
And His dominion is from generation to generation. NKJV
Rom 14:17 for the kingdom of God is not eating and drinking, but righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit. NKJV

The kingdom is expressed in different ways.
Mark 1:14 Now after John was put in prison, Jesus came to Galilee, preaching the gospel of the kingdom of God, 15 and saying, “The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand. Repent, and believe in the gospel.” NKJV
Matt 3:1 In those days John the Baptist came preaching in the wilderness of Judea, 2 and saying, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand!” NKJV

Kingdom Part 2

This sermon is part 2 of 5 in the series Kingdom

The kingdom of God or the kingdom of heaven express the idea of the realm of the King’s dominion, whether in heaven or on the earth.

Jesus’ most important statement about the kingdom.

Jesus’ own disciples were confused about the kingdom.
Acts 1:6 Therefore, when they had come together, they asked Him, saying, “Lord, will You at this time restore the kingdom to Israel?” 7 And He said to them, “It is not for you to know times or seasons which the Father has put in His own authority. NKJV

Kingdom Part 3

This sermon is part 3 of 5 in the series Kingdom

The tools or weapons of the kingdom are different than that of the world system. Jesus told us that we would be sent forth like sheep among wolves. He also said to be wise as serpents and harmless as doves.

We are in a war , a spiritual war that is raging all around us for the souls of men. Today, by the grace of God, we will look into our spiritual arsenal. But , keep in mind that though we may have the knowledge of our powerful weapons it will not help us unless we use them!

The Church and the Kingdom

This sermon is part 4 of 5 in the series Kingdom

The phases Kingdom of God and Kingdom of Heaven are used over 80 times in the NT. When something is used 80 times it is certain that it is an important subject. However, Matt 19:23-24, demonstrates that they are interchangeable. 23 Then Jesus said to His disciples, “Assuredly, I say to you that it is hard for a rich man to enter the kingdom of heaven. 24 And again I say to you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God.” NKJV

The Power of the Kingdom

This sermon is part 5 of 5 in the series Kingdom

Power— the ability or strength to perform an activity or deed. Power is sometimes used with the word authority. If power suggests physical strength, authority suggests a moral right or privilege. One can have power to perform a task but not authority to do it.

Jesus Christ had both power and authority.

Luke 4:36 Then they were all amazed and spoke among themselves, saying, "What a word this is! For with authority and power He commands the unclean spirits, and they come out."NKJV

And Jesus bestowed these upon His followers.

Luke 10: 19 Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you. NKJV

The kingdom of God had to come with power in order to displace the kingdom of darkness.

Matt 12: 28 But if I cast out demons by the Spirit of God, surely the kingdom of God has come upon you.

1 John 3:8 He who sins is of the devil, for the devil has sinned from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil. NKJV
