Revelation Part 1

This sermon is part 2 of 15 in the series Revelation

The Greek word is “apokalupsis “ meaning uncovering or unveiling. A term expressive of the fact that God has made known to mankind truths and realities which men could not discover on their own. Because of sin which entered the human race through temptation, now , mankind no longer has an open revelation of God. But thanks be to God , He did not leave us in our gross darkness, but left us a witness about Himself

so that we can come out of darkness and again enjoy the marvelous light of His presence.

Revelation Part 6

This sermon is part 6 of 15 in the series Revelation

For the past four weeks we have looked at the subject of divine revelation. Now that we have a foundation to work from we will consider the great end-time revelation given to the Apostle John . The Revelation of John is the final book of the NT. Without a good understanding of this book it is almost impossible to stay
spiritually balanced as we face the conclusion of this age.

The Church at Sardis
Rev 3:1 “Write this letter to the angel of the church in Sardis. This is the message from the one who has the sevenfold Spirit of God and the seven stars:  “I know all the things you do, and that you have a reputation for being alive—but you are dead. 2 Wake up! Strengthen what little remains, for even what is left is almost dead. I find that your actions do not meet the requirements of my God. 3 Go back to what you heard and believed at first; hold to it firmly. Repent and turn to me again. If you don’t wake up, I will come to you suddenly, as unexpected as a thief. 4 “Yet there are some in the church in Sardis who have not soiled their clothes with evil. They will walk with me in white, for they are worthy. 5 All who are victorious will be clothed in white. I will never erase their names from the Book of Life, but I will announce before my Father and his angels that they are mine. 6 “Anyone with ears to hear must listen to the Spirit and understand what he is saying to the churches.  NLT

As we look into the book of Revelation we must understand the terms that are being used. There are common terms such as the tribulation period which some believe is 7 years long. However, that is simply not biblical. The true terminology is Daniel’s 70th week. Daniel’s 70th prophetic week is a 7 year period divided into 3 divisions , the first 3 ½ years are referred to as “Jacobs Trouble” or ” The beginning of Sorrows.” The second 3/12 years is referred to as the “Great Tribulation” and the “Day of the Lord.” Please see diagram below.

The Great Strategy

Throughout the ages past, even before time as we know it began, an eternal struggle has existed between
God and his arch enemy Satan. We human beings have been caught in the middle of this cosmic war.
Satan or Lucifer, Son of the Morning was at some point so exalted in God’s eternal kingdom that his power, beauty, and pride caused him to fall from his exalted position. It is recorded that he was the first throughout eternity to sin through rebellion against his creator. Now, from an earthly point of view, this battle has been raging for over 6000 years . The consummation of this great conflict is coming to it’s prophesied conclusion. And there is no escape. As it is written, the glory of the Lord shall cover the earth.

Revelation Part 11

This sermon is part 11 of 15 in the series Revelation

The entire book of Revelation revealed to John the Apostle in vision form, is a continuing revelation of the vision given to Ezekiel the Prophet and Daniel the Prophet. When studied they fit like a hand in a glove.
Others of the minor prophets also contribute to our understanding of Daniel’s 70th prophet week and most importantly “ The Day of the Lord ” when God’s wrath is poured upon the ungodly.

The revealing of the scroll or book of Revelation is sealed with 7 seals. Each time a seal is opened it marks the beginning of a new event. The opening of the first three seals commences “ The Beginning of Birth Pangs.” This covers the first 3 ½ years of Daniel’s 70th week.
